Are payments live yet?
No. Payment processing is not live yet. Checkout and creator payouts are currently in test mode. The payment and delivery steps below describe the intended sponsorship process; they do not mean that real payments are available.
What am I selling?
You are offering temporary advertising space within your X profile banner. You keep ownership of your X account. A listing describes the exact rectangle available, the auction deadline, and the number of days the sponsor’s creative is meant to appear.
Can I sell just part of my X background?
Yes. You can list a full 1500 × 500 banner, the right half, or a custom rectangle. The placement editor shows its dimensions and position. Existing pixels outside a partial placement are preserved when a sponsored banner is prepared.
How does the auction work?
The creator sets a starting bid and accepts bids for 1, 3, or 7 days. Valid bids are checked on the server against the latest price. A bid must increase the current price by at least $1 once bidding has started. You cannot bid on your own space.
What happens when I win?
The highest valid bidder becomes the winning bidder after the auction deadline. The creator reviews the campaign before payment. When live payments are enabled and the creator’s payout account is ready, the winner can use Stripe Checkout. Complete payment within 24 hours after the auction ends; start checkout at least 30 minutes before that deadline. The booked sponsorship period begins 24 hours after the auction ends.
How do I send my artwork?
After the auction closes, the winning sponsor can submit PNG or JPEG artwork in the campaign panel. The creator reviews the screened submission, can request changes, and prepares a full-banner preview in the exact sold rectangle. Each revision stays in the private campaign history. Sponsor submissions always need the creator’s approval before publication.
What do the prices mean?
Bids are shown in US dollars and cover the listed 7-, 14-, or 30-day placement. Placing a bid does not charge your card. Any live payment happens through checkout. The sponsorship-spend leaderboard uses confirmed payments less refunds, rather than bid amounts.
How are payments and refunds handled?
Checkout collects the winning bid through Stripe. Creator funds release only after the full booked period and delivery confirmation. The checkout agreement explains whether the sponsor has a 72-hour issue window or must explicitly approve delivery. An open delivery issue pauses automatic release. Missing creator confirmation triggers a refund after seven days; unresolved delivery triggers one after 14 days. The campaign page shows the exact deadlines, transfer and refund status. Bank disputes pause new publishing and exclude the payment from rankings. Read the payment terms before checkout.
Can I automate my banner updates?
Copy a setup prompt for Codex, Claude, or Grok Bot from Auto-sponsor. Your agent installs the companion, pairs your X account, and checks its browser and scheduling capabilities. During a paid sponsorship, it receives the approved, safety-checked banner and uses your authorized browser to update X. Connections are in preview; live uploads still need validation with your agent. Confirm the uploaded banner on X. A direct X API route remains disabled until its access is verified.
Will unsafe images be uploaded automatically?
Every finished creative must pass independent screening for adult, graphic, and offensive content. Incomplete checks and unavailable moderation block publication. The exact stored image is checked again before an X update. Automated screening can make mistakes, so manual approval is enabled by default.
Are the example auctions real?
No. Example auctions use fictional creators and illustrative follower, bid, and sponsorship figures. Practice bids and demo listings are saved to your marketplace account but never charge money or modify an X profile. Live auctions are displayed separately.
